Marco Schillaci was born in Catania, Italy. He completed his degree in Photography at the European Institute of Design in Milan and shortly after launched his career in photography which later led him into his passion as a commercial director.

Marco collaborated with various national and international magazines including Grand Bazaar, Harper’s Bazaar, Vanity, Vogue Casa, Amica and Max. In 1989, he won the Art Director’s Club Silver plate for a press campaign for Audi –Volkswagen. In 1993, he began working as the advertising and commercial director. In 1994, with the Toyota campaign, he was short-listed for the Cannes Festival’s car category. Marco pursued his career mostly abroad, collaborating with different production houses in France, Germany, the Middle East, the UK, Spain and Portugal.

In 1998, Marco started working on lighting proposals and solutions for Pomellato shops in Milan, Madrid, Tokyo and Paris.

As a freelance director, he has worked for global companies such as Armani, Audi, Toyota, Alfa Romeo, Pepsi Cola, Citroen, Telecom, Ferrero, Fiat, Invicta, Unilever, Coca Cola, Honda Moto, Agip, Q8 and Vodafone.

The project that he created together with Montaini films in Portugal and Spain for Vodafone became a reference for Vodafone advertising in Europe from 2004-2010. Several of works for Vodafone have been short listed in Cannes Advertising Film Festival.

In 2008, he moved to Santa Monica, California, to work in the US market with Admit One Productions. Chrysler 300 “Artist” won a second annual D-show award as the best Television/ Multi-Cultural film.

Presently, while pursuing his directorial endeavors between the USA and Europe, he is working with international fashion designer Naida Begeta, collaborating as photographer and visual supervisor for the global fashion brand Kao Pao Shu.

Marco’s style as a director is very attentive to photography and visual aspects. He is a talented story-teller and very eager to work with actors and their direction which allows him to achieve great results in comedic and emotional films.
